Are you wanting to lose weight?  Do you want to know what diet the celebrities are doing?  It is called the 5 Factor Diet.  The 5 Factor Diet was created by Harley Pasternak, he is a renowned fitness and nutrition expert, he is even a best-selling offer.  Harley is arguably the most sought after trainer by celebrities, names such as Megan Fox, LL Cool J, Natalie Portman, Kate Beckinsale, and many more… See a complete list here.

How Does The 5 Factor Diet Work?

The Five Factor Diet is very easy to follow, you get 5 meals per day, workout 5 times a week for only 25 minutes at a time, and get 1 free day where you can eat anything you want, guilt free.  There are recipes for you to follow that will help you eat healthy and that are convenient for you to make.  Also, having one day per week to splurge is very helpful, because many people who try a restriction diet often binge on very unhealthy food right when they get off the diet and gain their weight back.  Having one day a week to splurge will help reduce your wild cravings.

What I like about Bistro MD diet food delivery program is that all there food is made from gourmet chefs, so you know that the food is going to taste good.  But also each meal is specifically designed within a doctor approved nutritional guideline.  There will be no need to worry about if the food taste good or if you are getting all of your nutritional value in a day.  There are 4 simple diet plans that Bistro MD offers: A 5-day plan (no snacks), 5-day plan (with snacks), 7-day plan (no snacks), and a 7-day plan (with snacks).  You get to choose what plan works for you.  The only issue I have with Bistro MD, is that they can be a little expensive, unless you use a Bistro MD coupon code.

a59mrr Diet Food DeliveryDiet-To-Go Review:

What I really like about Diet-To-Go’s diet food delivery program is that they offer a lot of different plans.  There are three main plans to choose from: Low-fat Traditional, Low-fat Vegetarian, and Low-carb, and within those plans there are 7-day, 6-day, or 5-day options.  You can even choose if you a dinner only plan, a 2 meal plan, or a 3 meal plan.  Because Diet-To-Go has so many different options there is probably a diet plan that is easily affordable for you, and if you live in the Baltimore area, the DC Metro area, the Greater Philadelphia, or the San Fran Bay area you can locally pick it up yourself so you can get your food fresh and bypass shipping costs.

I really like the Diet-to-go program.  However, if I was comparing Bistro delivery food to Diet-to-go’s delivery program for taste,  I would have to give the edge to Bistro MD.  Unless you are able to pick up your food.  Like Bistro MD, Diet-to-go offers coupons codes, so make sure you take advantage of that.

TB 621 20.1 Blendtec.comHow I learned about Blendtec.com:

I was at Costco the other day with my wife because we needed to fill up our fridge.  Well, like many people, my wife and I really enjoy the samples that Costco provides.  We came across this man who had a huge sample-booth, it was definitely not a normal Costco sample-booth, he was showcasing the  Blendtec Blenders.  My wife and I decided to stick around to see his sales pitch (honestly, I really just wanted some good smoothies),  but I did not realize I would be watching one of the coolest products I have seen in a long time.

Click here to buy your own BlendTec Blender!

This Blendtec Blender guy went on to do some amazing things with this blender, he made smoothies, hot soup, ice cream, and even grounded up rice to make a gluten-free flour.  I was so amazed by their product that I just had to share it here on my Ask The Fitness Dude blog.  I thought…”I have a fitness website, I need to tell people how the Blendtec Blender is a great nutritional choice.”  Seriously, this machine can radically change your life.  There are so many healthy drinks, meals, and desserts you can make with this blender.  If you have kids or a baby, you can make breakfast in a snap or make your own baby food.  Plus, it is a self-cleaning device, all you do is add hot water and soap and push a button and it cleans itself.  I hope my baby-boy-on-the-way has a self cleaning button:)

The Blendtec Blender has a very unique design, it easily fits under cabinet space because it is short, but has a square shape so it holds a lot.  The blade is also pretty amazing, when it spins it creates a vortex so that food does not spit out everywhere if you cannot fit the lid on or forget to.  The blade spins at 300 mph!

I mentioned before that you can make healthy drinks, meals, and desserts with the Blendtec Blender.  I have a massive sweet tooth, and this blendtec guy made spinach ice cream…I know what you are thinking, “that sounds terrible.”  I thought the exact same thing, but to my surprise, the spinach ice cream was delicious.  The juices that he made were also very delicious and as healthy as could be, because he did not have to peel the fruit (except for the banana), leaving all the nutritional value in the drink.

I normally do not get this excited over sale pitches, but this was just to amazing to not share with you.

If you want to check out the blendtec blenders go to Blendtec.com

Strategies To Improve Your Weight Loss

iStockWeightLossFearB Strategies To Improve Your Weight LossThese days it is easy to accumulate fat because we get an abundance of relishing foods easily available in the market. We have ruled out exercises from our lives by structuring communities with no walkways for safe walking. We have invented gadgets like remote controls and escalators that have reduced our movement.

There are three weight management strategies that can help to minimize fat gain and weight loss without feeling deprived of good food.

Strategy #1: Boost your calcium intake.

Consuming calcium rich foods three to four times a day can burn up to 100 calories of body fat. Calcium rich diets are helpful for not only maintains weight, but also for regulating blood pressure. Low fat Calcium preferably from dairy foods is most effective.

Strategy #2: Eat breakfast

Skipping breakfast is not a good way to eliminate calories; mostly you will find that the breakfast skippers are fatter than most breakfast eaters. When we eat heavy breakfast we end up consuming almost 100 Calories less by the end of the day. Hence, eating breakfast is one strategy which can make a big difference in weight management.

Strategy #3: Eat more fiber and whole grain food

Protein rich foods come with unhealthy saturated fat and excess calories which can result in weight gain, so it is better to avoid them and have fiber rich foods. One can lessen the calorie content of a casserole almost by 30 percent. This can be done by adding some bulky vegetables like celery, mushrooms, and peppers. You will find that people will tend to consume lesser calories without even noticing the difference.

food pyramid1 300x259 Food For HealthFood…it is probably one of the greatest things about being human, we get to eat incredible tasting food.  The our bodies desire food, and how are bodies need food, is the best thing ever!  I like many people, absolutely love eating good meals.  I am a huge fan of meat, and there is nothing better than a nice big juicy steak on my plate.  But although food is a good thing, to much of a good thing can be a bad thing.  Our body needs the nutrients and vitamins from food to operate correctly, but when we eat the wrong types of food, or mass amounts of food, then that is where we make a good thing bad.

You hear about all these diets…Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers…how you need to deprive yourself of certain foods.  In a way through these diets, foods can be seen as a bad thing.  But they are not!! Foods are a great thing and do not let anyone tell you otherwise!  It is not a horrible sin to have some ice cream once in a while, or a piece of cake.  These delicious treats have been given a bad rap, but that is because people do not know when to stop…they have no self discipline.  People need to learn how to have a small treat, or eat smaller portions of food.  It is called…get ready…this might shock you…a balanced diet.

A balanced diet! Who would have thought of that!  Most people think that eating a balanced diet means that you are eating cardboard.  When in fact, a balanced diet means that you are getting part of every food group into your diet, but in a proper and healthy way.  Do you know that you can lose weight by changing your eating habits?  Do you know that you might be sabotaging your workout plan because you are eating terribly?  Implementing a balanced diet into your life will help you change your health quickly.  If you do not know the proper way to change your life, then go to www.mypyramid.gov/mypyramid/index.aspx.

What Should I Eat After A Workout?

Ben Asked:

What should I eat after a workout?

Thanks for the question Ben.

gnc 100 whey protein 11352 What Should I Eat After A Workout?Well, there are a couple ways you can go about this.  It depends on what you’re trying to accomplish physically with your workout.  If you are trying to build lean muscle and lose weight, I would say to have a mixture between protein and complex carbs.  If you are trying to pack on more muscle, I would say to eat more protein foods than carb foods.  You should have something to eat at least 30 minutes after your workout, your body will absorb the nutrients better.  Although I would not really find something to eat, but more something to drink.  You have a small window of opportunity to replenish your body with protein and complex carbs, and sometimes food just takes to long to break down.  But liquid forms are great.  I would get a whey protein powder to drink right after a workout if I was you.  Whey protein will help promote either a toned looking body or a muscular looking body.

I hope that answers your question.

The Best Fitness Foods

Other than exercising and working out your body, the best thing you can do for your fitness is eating healthy.  Food is important for fueling our bodies, and when we eat the correct food we can turn our bodies into a fat burning, muscle building, and lean machine with tons of energy.  Food and fitness go hand and hand, they are like the dynamic duo! There is a terrible rumor that says, “Healthy food is lame.”  This statement is so far from the truth, because the fact is…food can be healthy and delicious.  I do have to say, if you are a vegetarian…you probably will not enjoy this article.

Here are four different foods that are great for your fitness:

Let’s start if off right!

filet mignon ck 491665 l2 The Best Fitness FoodsBeef – I used to love watching those beef commercials, “Beef, its whats for dinner.”  I loved it!  Even though the commercials were awesome, red meat has gotten a pretty bad rap over the years, but did you know that beef is 20% leaner than it was 10 years ago.  And if you eat grass-fed beef, it can actually help lower your cholesterol.  There is so many benefits to eating beef.  Beef highly contains amino-acids, which are great for building muscle.  A 3-ounce steak provides over 10% of your daily intake for some nutrients.  Including B6 and B12, protein, phosphorus, niacin, selenium, and riboflavin.  Beef also includes a healthy dose of zinc and iron.  But with any type of food, do not over do it.  You can have a 3-ounce steak around 3-4 times a week.  Look For steaks that are less in fat, like rounds steaks or top sirloin steaks, filet mignons are also low in fat and super good.

oatmeal heart The Best Fitness FoodsOatmeal – Breakfast is for champions!  And Oatmeal is a great breakfast.  The wonderful thing about oatmeal, is that it is quick and easy to make.  Plus you can add other incredible foods to it.  Like blueberries, raspberries, bananas, and strawberries..the list goes on and on.  Oatmeal is not only good for your heart, but it is also good for weight loss.  Oatmeal is rich with soluble fiber, with helps lower you cholesterol.  When picking oatmeal, make sure that you get normal oatmeal.  Oatmeal packets usually have a lot of added sugars in them.  Look for quick oats in the big tubs.

wholewheatbread 300x199 The Best Fitness Foods“100%” Whole-Wheat Bread – The reason I emphasized “100%,” is because only true whole wheat bread have 100% on it.  So make sure to buy 100% whole-wheat or whole-grain bread.  Whole-wheat bread is great for giving you energy, and it does not spike your energy levels like white bread does.  White bread cause your body to store fat, whole-wheat bread does not.  Whole-wheat bread will also help you feel full longer.

lg grilledsalmon The Best Fitness FoodsSalmon – You probably love or hate it, but it is still one of the best foods you can eat for fitness.  3-ounces of salmon provide you with 20-grams of protein! And why is protein so important?  Because it helps speed up your metabolism 3-4 times faster than carbs or fat, plus it helps fill you up.  Salmon is also rich in Omega-3′s, which are fatty acids that help clean your arteries.  Salmon is like the superman food.  It is great for muscle building and for keep your heart healthy.

Christmas Eating

This is just another friendly reminder to watch your eating habits during this holiday season.  There is no need to throw out your whole nutrition and workout plan because there are tons of Christmas parties going on.  You must continue to remain strong and continue to control your weight during this season.  So here are a couple of reminders on how to keep that weight off.

leftover candy canes by SpacePotato 300x225 Christmas EatingThe first and most important thing to do is to keep up with your workout routine.  This will help you continue to burn calories and keep your metabolism running.  If you fail to do your workout routine, you might pack on some unwanted pounds that you will have to work off later.  It’s better to keep the weight off now then trying to burn it all off all over again.

Eat before the parties.  This is important, because many people go to parties with an empty stomach, and guess what they fill there stomachs with at the party.  Yep…egg nog, chocolates, fudge, candy, fried foods, cookies, and many other unhealthy foods.  So do yourself a favor and eat before you go to a Christmas party.

Eat small portions.  This will help your metabolism run at a consistent rate.  Do not bog your system down with big and heavy meals, but eat smaller portions throughout the day.  Try eating slower too, let your body have time to tell your brain that you are full, do not stuff yourself quickly.

So Hopefully these few tips can help you and remind you to look at the overall goal. To keep your weight off during the holiday seasons.
