P90x Extreme Home Workout

asseenontv1347301492401 P90xWhat is the P90x Workout all about?

If you do not know by now, the P90x workout system is the toughest and most effective 90-day home workout on the market.  Tony Horton is the creator of the P90x workout and will be your own personal trainer right inside the comforts of your home.  There is no doubt about it, the P90x workout is very extreme, great for those who are looking for a challenge and who are looking to get rid of excess fat to finally reveal those abs.  In this workout you will build strength, burn fat, gain flexibility, and change your life not only physically but mentally too.

The P90x workout is made up of 12 workouts.  Each workout targets specific parts of your body or a specific style of fitness, for example…chest and back, plyometrics, and yoga.  Each workout is around 45 to 90 minutes long.  You will perform around 1 workout per day, but there will be times that you add the Ab Ripper X routine to the end of a workout.  Follow the P90x plan and succeed!

Here are the P90x Workouts:

What Makes the P90x Program Work?
It is just not all about the toughness of a workout, many people have worked their butts off and stop seeing results. What makes the P90x workout so effective is “muscle confusion.” Muscle confusion is the science that will help you continue to see results instead of experiencing a workout plateau. Plateaus occur when your muscle adjust to your workout routine, the P90x workout specializes in helping you bust through workout plateaus so that you continue to see the results that you want to see.

P90x Materials
The P90x workout not only comes with 12 DVDs, it also comes with a fitness guide, a P90x Calendar, and a Nutritional guide. The Fitness Guide will help you know which type of format you want to perform the Classic, Lean, or Doubles, make sure to choose the option that is best for you. The P90x calendar is an easy way to keep track of which workout you are supposed do on that day. Probably the most overlooked but most important part of the P90x workout is the nutritional guide. This is your key to success, the food you eat will fuel your body for success and the nutrition plan corresponds with the 3 month P90x program.

The P90 X-Factor
The X-factor for the P90x workout is your desire for change. If you can set your mind and discipline yourslef for 90 days, then you will be a changed person.

Turbo Fire Vs. P90X

Turbo Fire vs P90x 300x175 Turbo Fire Vs. P90XNow that the new Turbo Fire has been released, it is time to see how it stacks up against the best of the best.  The P90x workout has been the reigning champion of in-home workouts for many years now.  P90x has become the most successful infomercial ever, just not out of fitness infomercials, but out of any infomercial.  Will Turbo Fire ever rival the P90x workout program, and will Turbo Fire give you similar or better results?

In my opinion, it is going to be really tough to knock P90x off of its pedestal.  Not because Turbo Fire is a lesser program, but because P90x has years of proven results and great marketing.  It will probably take Turbo Fire 5 years to reach the popularity that P90x has achieved, but all of that is because of marketing.  I will say this, Turbo Fire if given the chance by people can definitely compete with P90x.

 Turbo Fire Vs. P90X

or

 Turbo Fire Vs. P90X

Is is really even a fair battle?  Not really, and the reason is because they are completely two different workouts.  P90x is weight lifting, body resistance heavy.  While Turbo Fire is cardio and interval training heavy.  The two really shouldn’t be compared, because they are specialized to give you different results.  Even though these two workouts are different, they both will get the job done.  Instead of Turbo Fire vs. P90x, you might want to try to combine the two workouts.  Combining these two great workouts will definitely give you the best of both worlds.  In one hand you have one of the best muscle building, and muscle toning workouts with P90x, and in the other hand you have one of the best cardio/interval training workout with Turbo Fire.

You really cannot go wrong with these workouts, just make sure you choose the one you like, and can be successful with.

Does the P90x Workout Work?

By FitnessDude · Comments (0)
Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Lately I have been hearing a lot about this P90x workout also mistakenly known as the Px90 workout; apparently it says P90x will get you ripped in 90 days.  As always, I am more on the skeptic side of things when it comes to workouts that “promise” results, but I thought I would give the P90x workout system a fair review.

First let me layout the basics on what the P90x workout system is all about.

p90x logo12 300x64 Does the P90x Workout Work?Tony Horton is the man behind the P90x system.  P90x is a 90 day home workout program that focuses on a whole body workout.  There are three phases; each phase is one month long.  There are also three different ways you can chose to do the P90x workout system.  There is the Lean program, which focuses on cardio, there is the Classic program, which is the most popular, and there is the Doubles program, which has you do two workouts a day.

The P90x workout prides itself on “muscle confusion,” which is said to be why P90x works so well.  Each phase specializes on changing the way your muscles are worked out, so your muscles do not get familiar with the workout and experience a workout plateau.

There are 12 P90x workouts:

  • Chest and Back
  • Plyometrics
  • Ab Ripper X
  • Shoulders and Arms
  • Yoga X
  • Back and Biceps
  • Kenpo X
  • X Stretch
  • Core Synergistics
  • Cardio X
  • Chest, Shoulders and Triceps

Each workout is anywhere between 45 and 90 minutes long, except for the Ab Ripper X workout, which is about 15 minutes long.

P90x comes with a nutrition guide that matches up with the three workout phases, and it is suggested that you have dumbbells, resistance bands, and a chin up bar.  There are many other products that compliment the P90x workout.  P90x has multi-vitamins, protein bars, a muscle recovery drink, and its very own designed chin up bar.

So here is my take on Tony Horton’s P90x Workout

The P90x workout system is primarily a muscle building program, not a weight loss program.  Now just because it is a muscle building program, that does not mean that P90x is going to bulk you up.  You have the option on building lean muscle mass or heavy muscle mass.  If you are a person who does not work out often and is obese or overweight, this program is probably not for you.  P90x is mainly for people who have little fat to lose.  P90x is specialized for people who want to bust through their workout plateau, so they can achieve those six pack and a toned body.

I actually do like the P90x workout system and I believe that it will work; it is matched well with a great nutrition guide that you can actually live by and that will fuel your body through the workouts.   My only drawback to the P90x workout system is that it might take longer than 90 days, three months just isn’t that long.

Overall, I like the workouts that P90x provides and that it focuses on muscle confusion.  There are some great body resistance workouts, stretching workouts, and cardio workouts.  I would suggest doing a little more cardio to maximize your results.

You should definitely consult your doctor before chosing to do the P90x Program, also do the P90x Fit test.
